What is the typical dress code at work and in public places? Is formal dress ever required?

Hungarians are fairly style-conscious, and generally do not wear athletic clothes around town. Suits or sportcoats with ties are the norm for men dealing with the public at the Embassy while business casual hasn't really caught on for men or women. - Feb 24, 2008
