What types of jobs do most expatriate spouses/partners have? Locally based or telecommuting? Full-time or part-time? Can you comment on local salary scales?
I know some people who have had success working in the bilingual schools or for NGOs. I don't think that pay is anywhere near what you would get elsewhere. - Jun 7, 2015
Most Embassy EFM jobs require a 4/4 in Spanish, which makes it difficult for non-native Spanish speakers to get jobs here. Some spouses have gotten local jobs at the international schools and with private companies. - Apr 23, 2014

There are a lot of teachers here. But in general I don't think the pay is very good unless you're at one of the main English speaking schools. You won't make much as a private tutor. - Mar 11, 2008
