Are credit cards widely accepted and safe to use locally? Are ATMs common and do you recommend using them? Are they safe to use?

Debit cards are more common, but I don't think credit card would be a problem. ATMs exist everywhere in Tallinn. Yes they are safe to use. - Jun 16, 2017
I can't remember the last time I paid cash for something -- even a pack of gum. Ubiquitous and safe. - Sep 7, 2016
ATMs are no problem. If you are living here, it is best to get a local bank account. Everything is done electronically here - it is actually much easier. - Jan 28, 2013
We have a local bank card that works everywhere. Most places in Tallinn take credit cards. - Oct 28, 2012
Credit cards are hard to use here, as they're not used to having people sign receipts. Almost everything is done by debit card (with PIN code) and via electronic funds transfer. - Oct 6, 2012
It's safe to use cards and ATM's. You'll probably open a local account while here. The one we have issues a debit card which is accepted everywhere. On a shopping side note: Kids shoes and clothes are expensive here, but toys even more so. - Sep 8, 2010
Safe and easy to use everywhere. - Aug 9, 2009
