What kinds of organic, vegetarian and allergy-friendly foods are available, such as organic produce, gluten-free products, meat substitutes for vegetarians, etc?

Organic produce can be grown and delivered locally by a few different companies. Few meat subsitutes available, but I did see Soy Milk and occasional Tofu. If you are there with the US Government, you may have commissary shopping privileges, and you can buy almost anything you want there. - Sep 20, 2011
There are some organic vegetables in some markets. However, I'm not sure if everybody's definition of "organic" is the same. You can find tofu, but maybe not at the local market. You would need to find an Asian specialty store. I have never tried to find gluten-free food. Restaurants often will not have good alternatives for vegetarians. - Jul 19, 2011
I wouldn't trust the local markets to have cleaned their vegetables or fruits well. I wouldn't trust the meat either. But you can find good stuff. It's readily available. The commissary has a large produce and frozen meat section. The meat is USDA inspected and from the states. The produce is shipped weekly from Germany. - Jun 5, 2011
