What accommodations do schools make for special-needs kids?

. - Nov 18, 2016
Not sure, as far as I know there may not be many options for special-needs children but it would depend on the disability. - Jan 28, 2016
There are several schools with good programs. - Aug 2, 2015
The higher costly schools make efforts to accomadate special needs but don't have a robust program. - Aug 25, 2014
I believe that Carol Morgan is willing to work with students that have special needs. I am not sure about the other schools. - Apr 30, 2013
Some accommodations, but more as an afterthought. - Jan 24, 2013
I have no experience with this, but I would assume not many, based on how physically- and mentally-disabled people are treated in Dominican society. - Mar 13, 2012
don;t know - Feb 12, 2012
You do not want to bring children here that have special needs. The schools and the society in general, do NOT accommodate. - Aug 11, 2010
Our 2 older children need gifted services which the schools here do not provide. Fortunately, the State Dept. provides special funding for this, and we are hiring a tutor to teach them at their grade level. - Jun 29, 2010
I understand that CMS has some services, but without a doubt, except for the library, the Special Needs and ESL departments of CMS are the worst people to deal with. They are an odd collection of misfits and poor hires, and their incompetence and ineptitude make any dealings with them difficult. - May 13, 2009
It's a great program for students with mild learning disabilities. Anything more than that and it's a struggle. - Nov 24, 2008
See above about schools. They will "accomodate" your child in the sense that they will do what they can. Whether or not that is sufficient for your child"s progress is another question. I have not had good success in this area. - Oct 19, 2008
