Is this a good city for LGBT expatriates? Why or why not?

There's a small but active and open LGBT community, especially on the island of Sao Vicente. There are laws to protect LGBT rights, but it's still a conservative, Catholic country. People are pretty laid back here, though, and don't seem to care too much. In terms of the neighborhood (West Africa), this is a very open place. - Dec 27, 2017
Yes. - May 18, 2014
It seems to be, though I am not sure there is a gay/lesbian community. Cape Verdeans are very accepting. - Feb 2, 2011
Dunno. Probably not a "good" city but there are openly gay Cape Verdeans. CV is a pretty relaxed place and is striving to be more modern so homophobic behavior is not common or at least isn't overt. - Sep 8, 2012
I don't think there is any problem. It's a live-and-let-live society. - May 23, 2012
I have very limited knowledge here, but the society is extremely tolerant. - Sep 19, 2009
Seems to be okay. - Feb 6, 2008
