What types of jobs do most expatriate spouses/partners have? Locally based or telecommuting? Full-time or part-time? Can you comment on local salary scales?

No. Job availability in the Embassy is also very tough with a lot of spouses who want to work and can't. It's gotten harder since USAID was expelled. - Nov 8, 2014

I don't think there are many opportunities except for those looking for teaching jobs. If you have good Spanish speaking skills, you can even teach at the local colleges. - Mar 14, 2011

It varies. There are some opportunities with the embassy, USAID, NGOs, the school. You need spanish for most of these, though. - Aug 21, 2009
