Tirana

What is the overall climate: is it extremely hot or cold, wet or dry, at any time of year, for example?

Wet in the winter, hot in the summer. - Aug 2, 2016
The winter rainy season is a challenge. The rest of the year makes it worth it. You can grow anything in this country. - Aug 2, 2015
There are four seasons, with beautiful springs and falls and relatively mild winters* and summers. This is mediterranean climate. The sun is STRONG. Bring sun gear and sunscreen for protection. *The winter before we arrived was reported to be extremely rainy and cold, but it rarely snowed. - Aug 12, 2014
We have four seasons, although conditions are not extreme. Summer can get very hot (into the 90s during some days), accentuated by the fact that air conditioning is not universal in office buildings, restaurants, etc. Obviously, the embassy, shopping malls, theaters, etc. are all cooled very nicely. Fall is short but very pleasant. Leaves on the trees in the mountains do turn colors. Winters are cold, gray, and wet. It snows in Albania, but almost never in Tirana -- and it never sticks in Tirana. During the winter you will get tired of the constant rain and mud. Spring is beautiful but always too short, with very pleasant days. - May 18, 2013
Climate is great. Really hot in July and August. Rainy in Nov-Jan. Beautiful the rest of the time. - Dec 27, 2012
Weather here is relatively mild and much like Washington DC. Winters can be wet and snow is very unusual. Summers are hot and can be dry one year and humid the next. - Oct 1, 2011
Mild winters with little snow, hot summers, and warm spring days. - Mar 31, 2008
